BIRDWATCHING ADVENTURE (8 days)

Day 1. - Arrival to Quito. Overnight at a first class hotel.

Day 2. - Breakfast. Today early in the morning we will drive 45 minutes south of Quito to the Pasochoa Reserve, which is located on the eastern Andean chain. Activities include nature study along clearly marked trails, plus an ascent to the remote primary forest. This protected forest contains a variety of birds such as different species of hummingbirds. Lunch. PM. Return to Quito. Overnight.

Day 3. - Breakfast. This is a fascinating full day trip to the Antisana volcano (Condor Sanctuary) which is a snow-covered volcano surrounded by paramo, lakes and streams. Here we have a variety of bird species topped by the presence of the condor. Lunch. Return to Quito late in the afternoon. Overnight.

Day 4. - Breakfast. Today we will go to one of the most important Protected Forest of Ecuador, home of more than 500 different bird species: The Mindo-Nambillo Cloud Forest. Here we will find beautiful and exotic birds such as: hawks, owls, toucans, tanagers, hawks, giant antpitta and many more. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Mindo.

Day 5. - Early morning we will visit the reserve in order to see the very famous and rare "cock of the rock". Breakfast. The rest of the day we will spend in this beautiful reserve. Lunch. PM. Return to Quito late in the afternoon. Overnight.

Day 6. - Breakfast. Today we will drive to Santo Domingo de Los Colorados via the old road to Chiriboga because this is the most spectacular area for birdwatching in Ecuador. Lunch. Arrive to Tinalandia late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Tinalandia.

Day 7. - Birdwatching early morning. Breakfast. In the morning we will explore more of Tinalandia and its surroundings. Lunch. PM. Return to Quito for overnight.

Day 8. - Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for international flight, or extension program.
